Frequently Asked Questions

About the HubPop

What is the HubPop?

The HubPop is a compact, patent-pending tool that pops a seized wheel off its hub in seconds. Road salt, brine, and moisture fuse steel and aluminum rims to the brake rotor through galvanic corrosion. Instead of kicking or beating the wheel, the HubPop applies clean, controlled jacking pressure between the rim and rotor to break the bond safely.

How does it work?

Three simple steps. First, slip the 5-inch plate behind the wheel spokes so it rests flat against the rotor. Second, hand-thread the bolt into the plate until the arm rests against the inside of the rim. Third, fit your standard lug nut socket or tire iron onto the bolt head and turn — screw-thread physics does 100% of the hard labor and jacks the seized wheel right off the hub.

How long does it take to pop a wheel?

Seconds. Once the plate is positioned and the bolt is threaded, a seized wheel typically pops free in about 15 seconds of turning — even a badly corroded aluminum wheel. No exhausting effort, no repeated blows, no waiting.

What is it made of?

The HubPop is a 5-inch plate cut from solid hot-rolled steel, paired with a heavy-duty 1/2"-13 steel bolt. It's compact enough to store in a glovebox or tool chest, and rugged enough to take on the toughest salt-belt corrosion. It's assembled in the USA from imported and domestic parts.

Compatibility

What vehicles and wheels is it compatible with?

The HubPop is designed to work with both steel and aluminum rims, and its profile is engineered to fit behind standard wheel spokes. It's built for everyday drivers, automotive mechanics, heavy-duty mobile service rigs, and roadside emergency kits alike.

What tools do I need to use it?

Just the tire iron or lug wrench you already carry. The HubPop uses a heavy-duty 1/2"-13 threaded bolt that matches standard tire irons and lug nut sockets — so there's nothing special to hunt for in an emergency. No sledgehammer, no penetrating oil, no mechanical know-how required.

Will it damage my wheel or vehicle?

No. Unlike kicking or hammering, the HubPop applies steady, even jacking pressure between the rim and rotor — exactly where the bond needs to break. There's no shock loading, no sideways blows to a vehicle on a jack, and no risk to your wheel's finish. The car stays rock-solid on its stands the entire time.
